[(2-diethylamino) ethyl bicyclohexyl-1-carboxylate hydrochloride]

 MF: C19H36ClNO             MW: 345.9 g/mol



Properties: It is a bi-cyclic synthetic analogue of acetylcholine. It is an amino-alcohol ester and hydrochloride salt of it is used for clinical purpose. It acts as an anticholinergic agent but weaker than atropine.

MOA: It inhibits the action of acetylcholine

in muscarinic receptor of smooth muscles.

      Use: It is mainly used as antispasmodic agents to treat colic pain of GI tract, urinary tract and uterus. It is also used in irritable bowel syndrome and dysmenorrhea.

SE: tightness of stool, stomach pain, weakness, dry eye, severe thirst etc.

ADR: swelling in face, increased heart beat, urinary retention, eczeema

Dose: 20 mg, q.i.d and one week treatment it can be increased to 40 mg, q.i.d.
